Last week was a particularly adventurous one! On Wednesday all of the classes at Green Apple went together on a walking field trip to a nearby playground. It was such a delight to see a group of twenty-four little ones out and about in the neighborhood! We laughed and sang songs as we walked and, of course, the children had a blast at the playground. We all had so much fun and can hardly wait to take another all school outing.
The Saplings took another nature walk on Thursday. We spotted black squirrels, mushrooms and lots of spiders. Then we stopped at the Jumping Rock and the children negotiated taking turns, and forming a line, two complicated and important skills for preschoolers. After each child had a couple of turns, we sat for a while, listened to stories, and had a picnic lunch in the grass.
We were pretty busy on the home front as well. We looked for bugs in our bug hotel and spent some time doing yoga in the garden. Summer session is off to a wonderful beginning!
