At Green Apple Garden we have the good fortune of being located near a couple of lovely parks and wooded areas. Last Wednesday, on a walking field trip, we happened upon a patch of delicious berries! We went back to the same spot on Thursday and by mid morning we had enough berries to make a delicious treat! On Friday morning we used the berries to bake a special vegan berry bread, which the children ate with delight. A couple friends enjoyed our project so much, they continued to bake in the sandbox! We're looking forward to more trips to the berry patch and thinking of more creative uses for the sweet treasures.

The babies have been doing so many things indoors and outdoors! The Pips mix food coloring and water to make ice cubes. We love to eat outside! Tasting some lettuce from our garden. Mud Week! Our kids and teachers had so much fun playing in the mud, painting with it, and doing mud experiments! Fizzy Mud with baking soda and vinegar!
A school garden is such a wonderful thing! We, Saplings, feel so lucky to have lots of time outdoors, especially this time of year. Since a picture is a worth a thousand words, here some snapshots of our kiddos working in the garden over the last couple of months. Enjoy!
