At Green Apple Garden we have the good fortune of being located near a couple of lovely parks and wooded areas. Last Wednesday, on a walking field trip, we happened upon a patch of delicious berries!
We went back to the same spot on Thursday and by mid morning we had enough berries to make a delicious treat! On Friday morning we used the berries to bake a special vegan berry bread, which the children ate with delight.
A couple friends enjoyed our project so much, they continued to bake in the sandbox! We're looking forward to more trips to the berry patch and thinking of more creative uses for the sweet treasures.
